Seit 01. Mai 2004 ist das neue Geräte- und Produktsicherheitsgesetz (GPSG) in Kraft.
Es regelt das Inverkehrbringen von technischen Arbeitsmitteln und Verbraucherprodukten.
Das bestehende GSG und ProdSG werden vom GPSG abgelöst. Hierdurch werden Doppelregelungen und Zuordnungsprobleme beseitigt.
Was bedeutet das genau?
Ein Produkt darf nur in den Verkehr gebracht werden, wenn die Sicherheit und Gesundheit von Anwendern nicht gefährdet ist.
Unabhängig davon, ob es neu, gebraucht, wiederaufbereitet oder wesentlich verändert in den Verkehr gebracht wird.
Hersteller und Importeure müssen Verbraucher über alle relevanten Sicherheitsinformationen des Produktes informieren.
Name des Herstellers oder Einführers, die genaue Adresse sowie die Produktbezeichnung müssen deutlich erkennbar sein.
Der Hersteller muss den Lebenszyklus seines Produktes genau beobachten, bei bekannt gewordenen Mängeln die zuständige
Behörde informieren und ggf. einen Rückruf einleiten.
